Default wordpress seo?

I currently have a website Skateboard Message Boards and Skate Magazine for skateboarders at Olliemag and it is powered by Wordpress.

Do you have any ideas how i can help my search engine rankings? Are there any plugins or easy ways to do it? Or am i stuck doing the normal SEO tactics?

Wordpress has a plugin just for seo. It's called all-in-one-seo-pack. I use it and it seems to be working well for my outdoor blog.

Also, if you are using images in your blog, ensure that you name the images properly and that you use the available title and description fields when you upload and add them to the article.

The all in one SEO pack is a good start: -

In addition to the seo pack, your actual posts will do more for your SEO efforts than anything else! Write your post (text only) in a wordprocessor first. Review your post to ensure that it is well optimized for the keywords (search terms) that you feel are most relevant. Also, make sure your post is very readable no matter what keywords you want to be using. Getting to the top of a search isn't much good if your readers drop off your site because the post isn't enjoyable and readable.
