SMX West is just a week out now and of course we'll be there. If you haven't registered... you really are taking the whole procrastination thing a little too far at this point.
I always look forward to meeting WebProWorld people at the shows, so if you see a bald guy with a video camera nearby... it's probably me so be sure to flag me down. For those of you who will be unable to attend, you should find plenty of show coverage both here and in WebProNews to keep you in the loop and at least give you a taste of what goes on (though you really should go if you can-- it's a lot more fun). We'll have special pages on WebProNews dedicated to all of our show coverage and I'll be sure to come back and update this post to a link to it once it exists. Beyond that, I wanted to throw some names out of a few people I hope to catch up with a little bit and see if you guys had any good ideas for questions/topics/subjects. I don't have anything set in stone with anybody yet... OK, I haven't even sent any of them emails yet... But I am pretty sure I can get a few minutes with most of them. So if you have anything on your mind you'd like to get some straight from the horse's mouth kind of answers for, now's your chance. Obviously, this isn't any kind of exhaustive list either... I'm sure I'll run into all kinds of interesting SEOers out there. So if you have just anything you'd like to see discussed in general.. feel free to throw it in the pot too. Hey Mike,
If you still have room on the questions links I got two: 1. Technical question: When are the SEO changes on-site and off-site recognized? Is there a difference between onsite and offsite, like for example on-site recognition on the spot (when it's crawled) and off-site only with PR updates or something periodically ... 2. Trend Question: With the ad fatigue and the need for (even more) relevant content, what do they thing of marketing and SEO merging in the future as one service. Is there a trend towards that or not?

Social media optimization.
There are three threads. In chronological order:
Social Media Will Change Your Business "Companies over the past few centuries have gotten used to shaping their message. Now they're losing control of it. Want to get it back? You never will, not entirely. But for a look at what you're facing, come along for a tour of the blogosphere". And note: "The potential bubbles are in Internet advertising and in Web 2.0 companies, including social networks. VC investment in Web 2.0 companies rose to $464 million in the first half of 2007, according to data released by Dow Jones VentureOne and Ernst & Young".
