Default How to optimize a website that uses frames?

I have heard that Google does index well those pages that use frames. (For example: Microsoft MSDN style Library). Because the bot gets confused to index which page title in a page due to the concatenation of different html pages in one page.

My question is: Is there nay way that we could index our pages in google which use frames. If yes then please elaborate.

I would really try and get away from frames if I was you. If you really need a framed layout you can probably get the look you require using css.

Thanks for replying gentleman.

But Microsoft MSDN also uses frames and all of its pages have a very high Page rank with good ratings in SERP's. If MSDN pages can index then why can not others?

Ok, I know ... I sound cocky, sorry for the "wrong signals". Anyways, what I'm trying to say is do your best to avoid frames. I had difficulties a few years ago indexing a client's website with frames, so I'm totally against it. Maybe SE bots changed and index better now but still ...

Good post by kgun - I have seen this method used with great success many times, however, I have also seen it fail many times. The optimised text should sit within the <noframes> tags with links to inner pages and frames.

Lose the frames for the long haul though - even if it means a complete redesign and days or weeks of work.

There is no good reason to use frames and a lot of problems. Get rid of the frames and you will get better reslts.

Site's that uses frames are not SE friendly because the contents are separately crawled and the SE view the index page as blank page. So better to tranfer all your frames into separate page.
