I think, (from my two year experience as a blogger), what matters most is the frequent and regular updating of your original niche content, as well as your domain name relating to what you blog about. I have had blogs that were 'sub-domained' that outperformed main directory blogs in organic traffic.
Subdomaining your blog or otherwise is not the focus. The search engines would find and showcase you , if you post regularly. I mean no disrespect for SEO guru tactics. |

There is no particular SEO advantage to using a subdomain unless you need it for keywords. And the previous poster *is* correct; the most important thing is your content .. and that is where the focus should be, however, as with any website, without SEO the human users will not be likely to come ...

Thanks Philomena Ojikutu and mjtaylor , I see , like the saying content is king. I guess that goes on to saying also that it would be wise not go way off content from the main directory, of that is if you are going to have a main directory content.
thanks again , I think will start with subdirectory while continuously building main domain. |

I'll prefer www.mydomain.com/blog as it will be easy to promote it. rather than sub-domain.
