Default different url's

hello,

i was wondering if anybody knows if it's good to buy more url's and name them the same as your content.
What i mean is that you have your website
for example www.dogs.com with all kinds of info about dogs One page on your website is about dogfood. So you make another website with one page named www.dogfood.com. With a little bit of content and link to your dogfood page at www.dogs.com

Does anybody know's if this can have a positive effect or that se's see this as negative and you get a lower ranking.

Regards,

Lowie

As for me sounds OK (provided there will be no automatic redirection). The separate urls shouldn't have any impact itself, but you can build better PR for your main site as you will get backlinks for each separate url.

Personally, I think that several different domains will get confusing to the customer. Having all the different pages included within the one site would be better.

And as was already stated, it helps keep the PR contained in one site.

Default lots of URL's

Im in the middle of my own URL mess.

Lots of URLs..lots of sites...

From what I am gathering one should work with their main site dogfood.com and build. If there is a dogfood section and you are lucky enough to get such a specific product name as dogfood.com buy it ( why not) and have it point to your dogfood page or index page.

Use the extra URL's as pointers for now...down the road they can serve as their own site if you branch off.

Better to have the "I cant believe nobody owns that name" URL and use it rather than lose it to perhaps your competition. Heck, it don't cost much to own and you can always sell it too.

I wouldn't bother if it were not within a theme or as specific to the main site.
