Lightbulb SEO content / links: XML driven sites, Web 1 and Web 2.

The webs traditional linking model is based on static one directional links from the source to the target.

These two postinspired med to write this post.

We like to say that content and liks are the king and queen of SEO. It should not be worse for a SE Bot to follow links on an XML document than on an HTML document. The tags of an HTML document is static, while the tags on an XML document are dynamic and you can make your own.

In october 2007, is it natural to assume that some of the best content on the internet is produced on web applications and XML driven sites. If so, it is natural to ask what the implications are for SEO and on and off site content.

We have a tendency to think in associations that is a much border concept than unidirectional links from one source to another. You read a story, like I did above, and suddenly you get an idea, call it an association if you prefer. You run to your computer and write the associated story.

Associations are more related to sets, the explicit or fuzzy relationships between them.

There is a related WPW thread:
Ignore the misunderstandings that have produced the present world.

Conclusion:
  • The webs linking model is becoming more advanced.
  • So are the way content is produced.
Final Questions
  • Will content weight the same independent of the way content is presented?
  • Will links weight the same independent of linking model?
  • Will the the major three SE engines (natural with a 1-3 directional link?) be the first to pick up this new model or does it open the door for more advanced bots and crawlers?
  • How are the sitution today.
