Default Looking For SEO "Red Flags"

Is there a service out there that would look at a site and just focus on "red flag" issues? Sometimes I get aggressive and I need input in holding me back

My site is Learn to Fly, Flying Lessons, Flight School - Learn to fly

That service can only be provided by a highly Professional Organic Search Engine Optimizer, as that requires human review and manual tests. So there are no tools that they can provide 100% accurate information on that.

Incred and webnauts - what about xenu? I know it's a broken link finder but it does highlight quite a bit more than that.

Also - as you know I like sitereportcard it's quick and pretty useful as a general guide.

Here's what it says about the posters site

Stripped source for: Learn to Fly, Flying Lessons, Flight School - Learn to fly

I had another more detailed report:
Source for: Learn to Fly, Flying Lessons, Flight School - Learn to fly
[retrieved in 0.224 seconds] [12226 characters, 1649 words]

which I could post it heere as it was too long.

Anyway, as you might see, not all your content is visible to Google, especially important parts.

I had a closer look to your page (markup) code, and your problem is that it is not well formed.

Sorry that I cannot tell more, as I am very busy. But at least I spotted prior and most serious issues of your site on-the-fly. I am sure there might be more issues, but that is all I can tell so far. But I guess others here can help you out fixing those issues.

Good luck.

David I had to look into that. It is obvious all that 10/10 links are considered broken, because I did a check with the GoogleBot simulator and I got this:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

Content-Type: text/html
----------------------------------------------------------------------

About the HTML errors, they are 43!!![Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.pilotjourney.com/ - W3C Markup Validator
How did you find those errors man?

About the meta tags. I do not know which tool you use, but I can ensure you that GoogleBot cannot see the meta tags.
Here are the results of the GoogleBot Simulator:

Meta tags for: Learn to Fly, Flying Lessons, Flight School - Learn to fly
[retrieved in 0.2235 seconds] [0 descriptive meta tags, 0 characters, 0 words]

Descriptive meta tags: No descriptive meta tags detected! Raw meta tags: No meta tags detected!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope I am done with my duty now.

Last tip for all!

This part of the code can lead to evil results. Just my experience with Manolya Hotel project if you can still remember:

<div align="center">
<center><h1>The time to <a href="http://pilotjourney.com/discovery">learn to fly</a> is now .. find a local <a href="http://pilotjourney.com/flightschools">flight school</a>.</h1></center></div>

IMO. biggest red flag is your code, it should be validated from w3c.

you can use software available in the market which will tell you what to change and where on your website, but my suggestion is not to follow their advise as you cannot generalize one solution to fit all situations in your case, website.

Edit by ctabuk - NO - self promotion thanks

I thought self-promotion is not allowed here at WPW, otherwise I would have offered that and a lot more myself.

And the problem is not only the code. I think you need to go deeper into the members issue, or you still need to learn a lot man.

If our member needs to hire someone for that work, I would advice him to check the site of the company with the W3C markup validator The W3C Markup Validation Service
to see if the company is able to code clean and valid markup or not.

Just to make things clear here.

John and Incred - you both know me - I'm marketing and simple - very simple SEO -but with metatags - is it better to have keyword metatags for other SE's and also that Google may go back to them? So better safe than sorry.
