Hi,
An acquaintace of mine has a cafepress store and recently has discovered he was getting hits from a particular url so he checked it out and discovered that this site was basically an empty site with his entire store in an iframe. The cafepress store in the iframe has an affiliate code attached to it so the purpose of the site is clear but actually the thing that would worry me is the apparent site duplication. Could this be a problem? |

Im with wige, I doubt it is an issue. I tried it with lynx view and it recognizes seperate frames. Im sure search engines would recognize it. The purpose of frames is to show two locations at once. And since the most important parameter in an iframe (or frame for that matter) is src= I would guess it would count it as a link, but it would be just as easy for search engines to ignore it completely and give it no weight at all. Either way, I wouldnt worry about it.

I think the best thing to do, if you arn't happy with these observations, is to ask Google.
I think you are ok for the reasons above, but.......

I hope if you can have given URL's to check, If you have seen that browser shows content and these are duplicate, in that case it is not good
Content duplication is risky and not worth it |

If your friend does not want his site to be "framed" and made used of by whoever owns the "Scrapper Site", all he has to do is to add this line of javascript code:- PHP Code:
This line of javascript code should be added in-between his website's index-page's HEADER tags. This script will force the site out of any iFrame. Simple. If your friend has a big issue with some one "iframing" his site, this solution will put an end to it immediately. Regards, Joshua Last edited by joshua_snl; 08-10-2007 at 03:36 PM. |
