I Need A Free Site Map Generator

I Need Free Site Map Generator. I tried the 2 listed in Webnauts resourse post, but really was un impressed. Neither is user freindly.

I tried Free Sitemap Generator.com but it requires a file to be added to your root directory. I added a file but it refused to accept it.

I then tried GSite Crawler Google Sitemap Generator for Windows and found it to be extrememly difficult. I had a hard time seeing if it was even crawling or not.

Does anyone know of a good and easy site map generator?

I'm surprised you found GSiteCrawler to be hard to use. It doesn't require much input from you (other than your domain), and it creates Google and Yahoo sitemaps at the click of a button.

As a result, that is actually the best one I've found. In my experience, the "free" online XML generators don't always give you code that Google will accept.

I would really encourage you to use the GSiteCrawler, even if you have to struggle through whatever issues you have with it. It allows you to save multiple projects (great if you have many websites) and you can exclude pages using the GUI interface.

You can also use Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps if your site is having less that 500 web pages. Else you can use GSiteCrawler, its a very good tool to create Google sitemap.

I downloaded GSiteCrawler, but I have to say I find it confusing.

Google does offer a sitemap generator script which you can place on your website... but I don't think it works if you're running on a Windows server (it's a Python program).

I agree. GSite Crawler is by far the easiest sitemap generator out there. If you can explain the exact feature that you found trouble with, perhaps I could be of help.

You can also use this site to create a sitemap good for google and yahoo.

I use G-site crawler, by far, the best and most complete program for your needs, actually it has so many features that you can get a little confused when you just start using it.
