I want to know where do google take the description shown under each result in their SERPS?
I thought that it was taken from the description meta tag but when i searched for "silver jewellery" i see that the top result silver jewellery - Google Search Google Displays the following Description "Leading retailer of silver jewellery in the UK. Silver bracelets, silver rings, silver chains, silver pendants, silver earrings and body jewellery." I cant find this description on the websites page or in its meta data so where is it coming from? |

This domain has two dmoz listings - Open Directory - Shopping: Jewelry: Handcrafted: Precious Metals: Silver , If your site is listed in the DMOZ Google often uses the description from there as the snippet they display in the serps. You can control it, by adding NOODP tag..
