PageRank (PR) is simply a mathematical calculation of the number of links to a site, so to improve it you simply get more sites to link to you.

HOWEVER, there is a big difference between PR and the ranking of a page. PR is only one of a 100 or so factors that go into the ranking of a page.

I know PR does not ensure that Google will index our resords high. But still, it is some how considered necessary to have a good PR and that describes the reputation of the website page. It depicts a good impression and causes to attract the visitors.

Where did you get these ideas? I see 100s of pages that are reputable and ranking high all of the time with no PR.

PR is a pretty green bar... a distraction... a misnomer -

You see whilst your out trying to increase page rank... I'm driving more and more traffic to my site ;)

Most consumers don't have the Google toolbar installed so they have no idea what page rank is... it's a great way to show off to your fellow web buddies though, and makes for even better t-shirts like the one that says "My PageRank goes to 11"

Get backlinks from authoritative sites that are related to your content. Your page rank will or might not increase but your site will increase in the serps and that is what is important.

It is not quantitative, it is based on quality.

If your target audience knows what PageRank is, it may have an impact if your content is not good.
But if you have quality content, I wouldn't care less about pagerank.

PageRank is one of more than 100 factors Google uses in the ranking of you website and your resulting position on their search engine. You get PageRank (PR) by having backward links from other website pages that have a higher PR rating than your site page the link is to. The PR of your site is updated about once of month when Google updates their database of web pages.

Thanks....

Quality is lhe key in Pagerank nowadays. Get backlinks that are relevant to your site contents. Eg. For a B2B website, exchange your link wilh other B2B sites in lhe world.Linking with link farms. will only hurt your ranking due to irrelevant links contents on that link page.

I am currently trying to get my PR 0 to 5 in 4months or less for my B2B Portal by linking with GIobal B2B sites and redesigning my site to be SEO friendl.y.

I would appreciate if you all can advice on improving http://www.ezbusinessneeds.com

This is great! Cheers

I hear you can just send Matt Cutts cash and he'll give you a PR9

seriously though stop worrying about your page rank...

build something of value for your site's visitors... seems to work for all the sites that have high PR now
