Default Can we fix our website domain for search engine results

I have a question. Can we fix our website domain for search engine results. I mean if we do search in any search engine, then only search engine will display only our website domain not display any other site's inner page at any keywords phrase.

For example:

If we search "web design company" then search engine display http://www.xyz.com/ not http://www.xyz.com/webdesiging.html . In any search only display website domain.

Is it possible? if yes then how?

I am awaiting for your reply.

No. Search engines don't rank websites, they rank pages. If one page is what they think ranks well for a term they will show it, not another page they don't think ranks well for it. So they won't replace your inner page listing with your home page.

If I understand you correctly, yes, you can do this by using the no follow rule or the .htaccess file to deny access to selected bots on specific pages. Then you would end up with only your main page (or whatever page(s) you wish) showing in the search results. It may take a while to get rid of pages that previously appeared in the results but eventually they will go away. Now, why would you wish to do this? The SE game is much better when playing with a full deck, so to speak. Generally speaking, the more pages you have the better your chances of being found.

Maybe you should start building inbound links to the page of interest.

No you cannot corner the market to own all 10 listings on the search results from a search engine.

Well you could but most people could not afford the time or expense involved.

Yes, you can restrict inside pages either using robots.txt or nofollow tag.

This question isn't too clear, but here's my take on the two ways to interpret it.

How to get pages other than your homepage to show up for searches:
  • Get incoming links to those specific pages you want to show. Build up their authority and incoming link popularity.
How to get just your homepage to come up for searches:
  • Get more incoming links to your homepage with the keywords you want it to show up for.
  • Use a meta robots tag or robots.txt to exclude the spiders from indexing the pages.
