To correct myself, I was not banned. I can read, but not post there. I have read a lot of posts there an sometimes have comments.
I got messages that it was not allowed to paste in links. If I paste in a link, I paste it bacause I think it adds value to the post. I could have understand it if WMW was consistent, but they were not. And I got bored of reading about blue widgets.
I only got emails that the links I pasted was sometimes deleted, but I did not get a warning that if I continued, my posting rights would be stopped.
I do not like it since I think WMW world is a good forum. A forum is not stronger than the weakest link, and it is the members that make up a forum. I got good feedback on some of my posts from experienced members.
Brian.Mark commented on this issue some time ago that posting without being able top paste in links is like driving in the night without light. I fully agree. What is the web without links, the ability to link disparate documents from all around the world?
You know that I can sometimes, and that is not good, be a little sarcastic. Some discussions were in my view as a visitor and guest there, blogged chats. I got bored and gave a comment like this:
"So that is the way to increase your number of posts."
IMO, that is a very great advantage with WPW:
People are much more diciplined when they post.
You follow an important post and you read page up and page down with, comments that should be given on a chat.
It takes time to read. Then stop reading, but the topic is important and every third page there is something of great value.
Conclusion:
My favourite
SEO and marketing forum is WPW.
My favourite PHP and MySQL (coding) forum is Sitepoint. The Australians over there can OOP in PHP. Some of the best in the world as far as I can see. If I have a programming problem, I often go to SitePoint, and they are fast to answer.
Their books are also good.
