Advice on using | , or - in title tag?

I see many variations with | , - and some with just spaces seperating the keywords in the title tag.
Is there one that is more beneficial than the others?

Would be greatful for opinions.

Avoid characters like | or : in the title tag as they could cause problems in some browsers when the pages are bookmarked. For example try to add this very page to your favorites using IE. : and | will not be seen. It is the title that appears when pages are bookmarked and so you have to be sure all the characters in the title tag appear when bookmarked.
