redirection 301 or so?

Dear friends,

Recently I've changed my subdomain with new domain name and some names of the files have been changed too. My provider said that she cannot do it redirections from subdomain and I would need to do something with.htaccess file and 301 redirections.

I would need to redirect a page www.christian.healing-prayer.net/Rindex.htm into
www.christian-healing-prayer.net/ru/index

And some other pages too.

Would you give me a clue what and wheere I need to add into my old pages?

If you already have .htaccess file then just open it using vi command and insert following code :

redirect 301 /directory/file.html http://www.newdomainame.com/directory/file.html

*Note: The first part "/directory/file.html" is the location of the file being moved and the second part "http://www.newdomainame.com/directory/file.html" is where the file is being moved.

Now save the file and Upload it to your server.
