Default Classifieds website optimization

Hey all,

Our company website, Desi Classifieds, is a free classifieds site with a PR of 4, but of late the traffic is steadily decreasing, we are fearing that the PR may drop due to decrease in traffic.

Could any of my SEO friends in WebPro World suggest us techniques to increase the website traffic?

With best regards,

Well, for one, I'd bet you don't get all that many repeat visitors. I'm still using some old 17" CRT monitors at 1024x768 and I can't fit it all on my screen. From our stats, 60% of visitors are at that resolution or below. I'd work on providing a better user experience to maximize repeat traffic as a start.

Brian.

First, I agree with Brian, your website doesn't fit in (what's supposed to be shipping standard) 1024 X 768.

Scrolling down is not that much of a problem as is scrolling sideways. It limits your basic functionality, and your visitors/ users are the ones that are not getting the benefit.

IMHO, you've got a problem with layout. You have what looks like a liquid, or relative layout, but your markup does'nt allow for it. Don't give your center panel absolute positioning. Make it relative, so that as the monitor screens change sizes, your content will squeeze to fit the page.

Right now, I can't tell if it's your top nav, or all of the images you have at the footer that are not scrolling correctly.

Check out a CSS based layout for the site.
