Default Reference Tags

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been using a tool called keyworddensity that compares 2 sites with regards to the keyword you input. I have compared my site to several others and one of the things they seem to be beating me on is keyword density in the "reference tags"
I am wondering what are reference tags, are they important to SEO, and how do you write them?

Thank you,

Scott

Keyword density is not as useful or powerful as it once was. Maybe back in 1999 the SE's used this as large part of the algo but not anymore. Instead concentrate on writing for your end users so it makes sense to them more than the bot itself. This will lead to more IBLs to your website which is much more important than the density of the page.
