No follow aspect with links

Hi,
I know there has been a long discussion on links and recirpocal links as well, but i have a question: i have a links page on my website n i still exchange links with some of the sites. Is it necesasry to include the nofollow aspect with the link for avoiding search engines??

or is it ok if i allow search engine sto crawl the exchanged links as well.

I think noone would want to exchange links with you if you set a nofollow on the links page, neither if you set a noindex on the pages linking to this one.

Most of the persons interested in link-exchange are doing this for improving the page relevancy "in the eyes" of search engines.

If the links are not relevant to your website I would consider the no follow attribute.
