Default Can a 1 Page Site Get Listed and Rank Well?

Just wondering, because I do some single landing page sites for PPC and was wondering if the search engines are looking for multi page sites with lots of content.

IMO - It's not very likely at all. It would have to have some "extreme", such as "viral" appeal.

Anything's possible--it even is possible to get a blank web page to rank for something.

Most of the organic ranking factors are off-site factors, so that's one of the reasons why one-page web sites can get ranked. But, those one-page web sites compete with sites that aren't one-page sites so it's extremely difficult to compete with sites that are always adding content, always adding more links, and have internal links.
