Default Why we used them

Hi all. We generally used following type of meta tags:

1. <title> ......................</title>
2. <meta name="description" content="......................... ">
3. <meta name="keywords" content=" ............................">

But I have seen many people used another meta tags along with above tags.

These are:

1. <META NAME="Title" CONTENT=".........................">
2. <META NAME="abstract" CONTENT=" ....................">
3. <META NAME="keyphrase" CONTENT=".......................... ">

I am little confused about this. Let me know what's these & why we used them.

Thanks & Regards

The first option is the right one.

Hi,
<META NAME="abstract" CONTENT=" ............"> This tag is used as the secondary to
<meta name="description" content="............... ">
by some of the search engines.
You can use both of them simultaneously. How to rate and use them for ranking is upto search engines.
I hope this has given you some direction for thinking...

With regards,
