Default Improve the ranking and PR

Hello all members, please tell me how can i improve my site for better search engine ranking and better PR. I know PR is based mostly on links from other sources but i post a latest news on my site and that news page mostly doent have have better page rank.

Website:
Code:
http://www.cgarena.com
My main keywords are (animation, 3d, graphics) but my website name doesnt come in the search engine in top 100 may be these are very popular ones.

Please suggest me the keywords or some tips which help me in improving my website in search engines. I cant change the design or anything else, also cant use the same keyword again and again because its all about the latest animation industry news. So suggestions are welcome.

I also submitted my website in dmoz and continuing to do so from last 6 months (1 time every month) and the selected category is also perfect because my competitor site is listed there but my site doesnt list.

Hope you guys will give me some good suggestions that help in improving the site and the traffic.

Forget about PR. Get links from quality relevant sites and good directories with your keywords in the anchor text.

Use http://www.wordtracker.com/ or this free tool http://www.nichebot.com/ to find your keywords. Also look at the keywords your competitor's target.

DO NOT KEEP RESUBMITTING YOUR SITE TO DMOZ!!!

Every time you do it resets the process, extending your waiting period!!!!!

I already done this and after that i added the keywords in my page. And that's why i mentioned my website above that after looking it anyone suggests removal or addition of any keyword.

Processing of site submissions take a while, even up to six months or longer.

To get high SERP, it is important to use targeted keywords. While selecting keywords do a proper research. Research helps in finding most targeted keywords. While doing research think according to users, which keyword they may use. Use those targeted keywords in your content.

To get high PR, concentrate on your backlinks. Try to get more relevant backlinks. Update content regularly, submit your site in directories, and prepare blog. All these points will help you in getting more backlinks.

SEO gaps:
Your site needs attention in the following areas
1. URL optimization - rewrite urls inducing keywords.
2. Move CSS and Java to external files
3. Change the top java menu to CSS menu - this will enhance crawlability. If you can't do that, just add a text links menu containing important links at the bottom across the site. Include it in template. Check the following url:
http://72.14.235.104/search?q=cache:...en&lr=&strip=1
4. Code validation (60 errors) - Eliminate as many errors as you can.

Link popularity
1. Go for article syndication - helps you to get real quality IBLs
2. Promote forum - this is one good source to become popular in no time. participate in other forums and post summary of topics discussed at your forum reffering the link.
3. Don't build any reciprocal links. Submit to as many directories as you can

Best of luck

Adding links to the popular pages only on the homepage will work or this is necessary to add in all the website pages.

Add this menu to as many pages as you can but entire site is best. You should have implemented these SEO elements in your template in the beginning itself.

First i dont know that search engines also dont read javascript navigation so i leave the text links.

But i have added a sitemap text link on homepage and that's contains all the website page links..so i think whole site can easily crawl by every search engine. and that's why my site have mostly all the pages in the google.

I was able to take a "coming soon" page with 10 words of text with white background to PR4 with one relevant backlink.

From the tone of the posts I have read recently, there seeems to be a lot of demand for improving pr and enjoying watching the little green bar.

Here are a couple of simple suggestions
#1 Put your site about animation, 3d, graphics forum in your signature.
#2 Trim your description and remove "where people come from all walks of life " to push your keywords higher in the description.

Signature in the forum?

Shorten the description as you suggest but i dont think search engines take description words in note for ranking.

Btw, how you guys rank the overall look and design of the website and loading of the website (consider this is graphic website).

Yes you are right as far as indexing is concerned, but internal links also contribute weightage for PR and rankings. It is a big advantage for dynamic sites as they can easily generate no. of pages.

Hi ashras,
You may get a better response starting another thread on this question. On one of our sites my partner set up Nucleus and it looks pretty good.

I would put a blog on a separate domain name. The blog may take a life of its own.
