Default Directory - descriptive anchor text

We've been working on creating a directory application.
Should the descriptive anchor text title - link to an external site or should it go to a more detailed page which provides the descriptive anchor text title link to the external site?

With the second option each link will have it's own page and the directory will obviously have alot more pages. The link with the descriptive anchor text will also be an extra click.

thanks.

Good point.
I think I would go without the extra click.

Tim, I wasn't sure I'd made myself clear, I'm glad you picked it up.

You can see the scenario here on our tester
http://www.codefixer.net/mylinks/linkspro/

We've decided to go for the extra link, it'll also let the users call the details page whatever they wish provided it hasn't been snapped up.

Maybe there should be a toggle option in admin, I'd be interested in hearing what others think.

Do whatever makes sense for your end users. That is what is going to help you rank, not how you structure your OBL's. The popularity that can be made from making a great "word-of-mouth" website regardless of the optimization in place is what is working best now-a-days in Google.
