Two weeks ago I did an email blast and on the same day I had a massive spike in SE traffic from all the SE's. Did everyone just decide they would rather do a search for my site rather than click the link provided in the email? Has anyone experienced this before?

I've never done an email blast, but given that people search Google for Yahoo and Yahoo for Google gives us a clue as to how people do things in this day and age.
On a less silly note, I'd imagine that some people would trash the email and then search out the product, because you never know if clicking on something in an "email blast" is going to track your click and verify your address for email marketers. |

They verified their address when they filled out the web form... people are so wierd. They take the time to fill out our web form to get more info then report us to aol as spam... Oh well.

MtraX: There's a good chance you may be on to something there. It would be in the SE's best interest to have a feature like that so they can be on top of breaking news and stuff...
So the next question is, how can you use this to help my web site get more hits, and get better PR. JuniorOnline: "Email blast" means I ran a bulk email campaign where I sent an email out informing (everyone who has signed up to receive emails from our company) about an offer we are running. |
