Default Need help getting listed higher for a certain keyword

Hi folks,
I am new to posting on these forums, but I have been reading them religiously.
I run a Community Web Portal for a City and want to get listed as high as I can for the City's Name...."Charlottetown". I have found this to be quite a large chore and have jsut about pulled all my hair out trying to do so. I now turn to the community for some help.
Can I get some of you to look at my site...http://www.townsquare.ca and provide any suggestions as to how I may get listed higher under the keyword Charlottetown? Or should I focus on a more specific area such as "Charlottetown Events" or "Charlottetown, PEI".

Thanks in advance.

Quick answer for now (gotta run):

Yes, use two- and three-phrases instead of single words and don't try to get listed for "Charlottetown" or even "Charlottetown, PEI" - you are not the city....

Try "Charlottetown Community Events", "Charlottetown News", "Charlottetown Events", etc.

Ask the question, "what will people want to find on my website?"... then "what would they type into a search box if they were looking for that information?" -- your answers to thoise questions are your keyphrases.

Hi gfraser,

Couple things:
First the title tag on all your pages are exactly the same. They're all fighting for those keywords.

Second, your domain points to this page http://www.townsquare.ca/index.cfm?lang=en& -this will cause bots to stumble a bit
