I need ALL opinions/facts here please. I literally spent all weekend "reworking" my page titles, descriptions, keywords AND content, based on my interpretations I've read from this forum, as well as others. I've also followed advice from bruceclay.com.
However, concern has now crept in that what I've done may not have not been correct and I may get lowered se results, or worse...DUMPED. Is it okay or not okay to repeat a word several times throughout different keyword phrases? I've done this several times with my keywords, but have not listed them back to back whenever possible. For example: here are my home page keywords: "Play Set, Wooden Swing Set, Playground Equipment, Swing Set, Wooden Play Set, Swing Set Accessory, Residential Playground, Backyard Playground, Commercial Playground, Child Swing Set, Outdoor Play Set, Backyard Swing Set, Commercial Playground Equipment, Metal Swing Set, Residential Playground Equipment, Play Set Accessory, Playground Accessory, Playset, Swingset, playproviders.com" You will notice several words "play" and "set", "swing" and "playground" appear all throughout the keywords. Is there a problem with this approach? And if so, if it were so bad that I were to get "blacklisted" with Google (Heaven forbid!), would I then just correct this and resubmit, or would there be long standing consequences? I have also made sure to include my important keywords (the ones I list first) in the Title and Descriptions. And finally, I've incorporated ALL keywords into the page content. Please, someone console me and comfort me, OR slap me on the hand BEFORE I get spidered again. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Ronnie www.playproviders.com |

minstrel,
Thank you for responding, I hope to hear other comments as well. I guess I'm now a little confused by your reply on removing words that are "present/subsumed". Are you saying that if my keywords/phrases listed as "Playground, Playground Equipment, Commercial Playground Equipment", that I should remove the "cannibalized", whole keyword phrases, ending up with only "Commercial Playground Equipment"? What am I missing that I don't see how this could produce the same results, search wise? Does this adequately cover the bases on someone searching for Playground or Playground Equipment? Every time I think I have a handle on a, not THE mind you :), proper "technique", I find out I am once again wrong! Thanks again! Ronnie www.playproviders.com |

I am saying you don't need "playground" (single word) or "playground equipment" (two word phrase) because these are already covered by your three-word phrases "commercial playground equipment" and "residential playground equipment". The three-word phrases ARE different and therefore not "spammers" - conceivably, having the single word or two-word repetitions could be seen as "spamming" or "stuffing" (I'm not saying they necessarily would be), but overall I was trying to say that I don't think you have any major worries in what you've got already. If it were my site, I'd take out the entries I highlighted in color and leave the others.

Different pages should target different subjects and the page content and the header content should reflect that subject IMO |

Thanks! I have differentiated each page somewhat, but realize I need to do more in this area.
More or less my approach was to get a "base" set of keywords for the home page, then to use most of those same "base set" keywords on every other page, while adding in page specific keywords. I've since thought about doing much more in that area as you suggest. Ronnie www.playproviders.com |
