Link are not only important for PR transfer but also to bring customers. If spiders can't see it, potential customers surely can

Just my opinion.

Agree -- add a link get a link if they make sense.

Visitation is more important, and even if you assume that links help PR and PR helps ranks, and ranks help get more exposure (thus more visitation) it is less productive than getting qualified visitation from the link... and letting PR take care of itself.
