Default Using paid service Lycos "InSite"

Hi,
I'm newbee, so i need expert advice.

I researched online for web promotion, and trying to submit my site(http://www.ajpd.com/)to many search engines with hand, and paid for Lycos. But i can't see my site listed on the search engines the service is supposed to list. I'd like to promote site but i don't think i need to use paid service if it's in vain to pay. Please give me some advice. Thanks.

Jai

Default Try Adwords?

Personally, I wouldn't spend too much time on submitting to search engines, but I'm new, too and I'm sure a lot would disagree. Here's what I've found:

Some people don't like it, but I've had pretty good results from Google Adwords. You wouldn't have to invest a lot to find out if it works for you. From what I've read, getting people to link to you and having great, updated content is really the best way. Also, you might try an e-mail campaign if you have some of your customer's e-mail addresses (I've used constantcontact with good results). You can get some opted-in addresses from InfoUSA.com, but it is not cheap.

The most helpful information I have read in a long time is: http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic...877&highlight=
If that link doesn't work, it is a post in this forum called, "What is SEO and what does it involve?". Check it out when you have time.

If you find something that really works for you, I'd love to hear about it!
