Default IP Address in place of Domain Name in Search Results

Hi Friends,

Our website's IP address is being displayed instead of domain name in Search results of Google and MSN.

Ex:http://mydomainname.com/about.html as 11.11.111.111/about.html

Kindly let me know your valuable suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
Amar

Somebody must be linking to it.
Try adding link: in front of it and do a google search to find out who

cyanide is right, mostly likely there's a link to it from somewhere. Make sure it's not on your site and, while you're at it, make sure you're using absolute links and not relative links on your site.

Amar,

Make sure that you are not using the IP in your internal links.

Default IP

Two chances:
1. Crawlers found your pages through an IP reference (either internal or external)
2. problem with DNS settings

Hi Members,

Thanks for your suggestions. I checked links in my site using Xenu, I didn't found any internal or external links pointing with IP address.

I am assuming that it is some how related to reverse DNS.

Expecting to discuss more on this.

Thanks,
Amar
