Default When does new content show up

Hey there,

site name - http://themastersfamily.net

Issue - I see from my logs that Google, Yahoo, and MSN all crawled my site yesterday. Before that it had been about a week since the last crawl.

I notice though that Google's cache of my site index shows my most recent blog posts (3), but it does not seem that it followed the links to the individual posts (they do not show up when I do site:themastersfamily.net).

Also, this is a Wordpress Blog and I recently changed my permalinks so that they were just the category and post name (/the-family/we-have-walls) but it does not seem that is picked up on that also (it used to be /2006/02/the-family/we-have-walls/). It is still the old way with the year and date.

Question - When will the new content/structure show up?

I am asking this because I am experimenting with using wordpress to develop dynamics sites and I am using my family site as a test site.

Below is a copy/paste from my awstats log -

************************************************** *

Robots/Spiders visitors (Top 10) - Full list -

Last visit 5 different robots* Hits Bandwidth Last visit

Googlebot 57+8 408.84 KB 02 Mar 2006 - 16:09

Yahoo Slurp 13+13 166.42 KB 02 Mar 2006 - 13:08

MSNBot 7+7 56.23 KB 02 Mar 2006 - 14:10

************************************************** **

Thanks for the help!
Dan

When you made the permalink change did you 301 redirect the old URLs to the new ones? If not, you have to be patient and wait for the SE's to catch up and start indexing the new URLs.

Also are you seeing spidering activity on these sub pages at all?

You might attempt installing aMeta Date tag to force the refresh on the Cached Page, it sometimes works. It's not going to work daily however! Cached pages simply will not change that frequently.

<meta name="date" content="February 13, 2006">

Obviously, insert a current date, and update anytime you change page content.
