bots that fill out forms?

I have not encountered this before. One of my clients has been getting almost daily emails from his site form and every one is the same. It appears to be a bot that is set up to post to a form time and again.

- Have you experienced this before?
- Any ideas how to combat this, other than moving the form to another folder and hoping it takes awhile for bots to be updated?
- Why would someone do this? It's more stupid than any other type of spam I've encounterd up to now.
