Default What must me metatags inorder to show the topic link in S.R

I think it is the fault in the meta tags that when any one searched about the net when my sight found as link to the main index page but not the exact link to the thread ,how to change the results i,e in order to come the exact post as link in the results rather than index page link .
Once i have deleted the meta tags for this reason now also i am getting the same results.

Now, I thought I knew what was what when in came to discussing meta tags. Now I'm not so sure.

I had doubt about the how the results of search engines effected by the changes in the metatags i have major doubt about the "follow", "nofollow" and particularly for a forum what would be better to put "index" or "noindex" .
note::: I asking this question because when i searched the google for a key word i found my forum and i clicked that link on the results but i am going to the index page of my forum but not to that topic what i found in the search results ,
I need this "When ever i clicked on the results i must move to the particular post what found by the search engines in the forum not to index of my forum.

Default Home page

Nagarjuna,

put the good stuff on the index page. Don't worry about the meta tags. As from what I gather your forum posts tend to be subject to change. Meta tags are more suitable to material which tends to be fairly constant.

I know that these pages are dynamic but iam not asking about the tags like "content","description" iam asking about the tags such as "INDEX","NOINDEX","FOLLOW","NOFOLLW", fO a forum what we use either"Index or no INDEX.

Default Provide an example

Ok, the first thing I would like you do to is provide me with an example search term.

Please tell me what you are searching for in Google (which words?), and I will take a look at your ranking and explain how it came to be.

I really don't think index, noindex has much to do with your problem. All those tags do is tell a search engine whether you want your page listed or not. They will have no effect on how your search listings are displayed.
