This is anchor text. It's used to describe the content of a hyperlink.

Oversimplified Explanation: it's used by engines to try and quickly determine what a hyperlink is all about, since on-the-page factors are too easy to screw with.

In the case of your site, you might want to use something like: "Control Panel Manufacturers" or "Bridges Electrical".

basically, every link on your website that is using text and not images to link to another page = anchor text.

for example, if we a have a link for ( Business Phones )- this word should take the user to a relevant page about business + phones. The spiders are expecting to see on the other page, similar or related words too. If the spiders are taken to let say (weddings page) then they would consider this as not relevant and they will not display your website for the keyword (Business solutions)

In order to boost your web ranking, you will need to make use of your keywords (highly searched ones) that you are targetting for your website and put them in your anchor texts.

Hope am making sense :)

Default website Navigation

Hi Again,

I also noticed there are issues with your internal navigation. If you fix that, it will offer your visitors better usability + you will end up with more internal linking (text links, with relevant keywords).

Example:
if a visitor land on this page and they choose let say (Mechanical Engineering) - the mechanical engineering page does not have any links that would take them back to the previous page. also it does not have any links for the (Products and services).

I would highlighy recommend, adding these other links on every page related to the products and services for easier navigation.

http://www.bridgesltd.co.uk/mechanical.htm
should have text links like these:

Other products and service
- Skills, abilities & services
- Control panels
- Civil engineering

(Make sure the links you are using in each of the pages have the right keywords that people are searching for - this will help in showing your website in search)

also you could post your website for a review - you will get a lot of good tips how to improve the site in terms of usability and coding.

bart0r: put it in your forum signature.

It should look something like this:

Bridges Electrical

This will gain you a few IBLs, and every little bit (and in this case, I do mean little) helps.
