Default Advice on these two sites...

my father in law has this site:
http://www.ovalhomes.co.uk which is ranked first place in google when searching for "new homes in medip, new homes in bath" etc etc.
IVe taken a look at it and all i can see is alot of meta words. can anyone else tell me why this could also be highly ranked?

Ive just built a new site myself: http://www.bridgesltd.co.uk/Website%201/ (it will be moved to its own domain very shortly), ive included alot of relative meta words myself, i was just wondering if there could be anything else i could do that is quite simple?
Im not amazing with html or have a very extensive knowlege, but just about enough to usually get by.

thanks in advance,

Adam

It really comes down to incoming links to your site. The "Meta" information isn't used for ranking purposes, per se, in the big 3 search engines.

I'd work on achieving incoming links to your site and you'll start to see rankings on the UK searches at Google. Main Google page will take a little longer.

SO if he had a page (even a hidden page) with links to my site that would increase my rankings?

I cant understand how they'd get it so highly ranked though, quite possibly they do have external links?
