whats public and whats private is different between all of them, hence the differences. yahoo is believed to be the more accurate count.

Default What I do...

I would start here for a list of directories, then start looking for other sites in your category at some of those directories to exchange / request links from. After that, I'd start doing some searches to find related pages that rank well to request links from.

That should keep you busy for a while.

Brian.

Default Variation on an inbound linking theme

1. Google is a sample. It has vastly more IBLs on its register. Try looking for supplementals.

2. Yahoo is accurate but doesn't update that fequently.

3. MSN probably has the most active spider. Its results are more volatile.

Curious, what makes you think Yahoo is the more accurate? Msn seems to always have a higher number.

I'm assuming they are not just making them up, so I've always assumed MSN was the most accurate of what's displayed, although I would think they are have a similar number in their own private count.

I do find Yahoo very slow.. somehow I just don't understand Yahoo at all. Having said that, we are doing really well in terms of PPC there, as we do get low cost for the clicks, yet very good targgeted customers who buy. Excellent conversions from them. I just wish we would show more in Yahoo..

Default Yahoo on page emphasis

Yahoo is more on page than either, MSN or Google. Its about alignment between meta tags and content.
