Default What's the reverse of being Sandboxed

opera western reserve has been live for about 8 weeks and google lists it as #1 (#1 for the last 5 weeks) however yahoo and msn are ignoring the site in their SERP's.

So what's the reverse of being Sandboxed?

Generally, the sandbox was only applied to sites competing for competitive keywords. opera western reserve is not exactly competitive. Sandboxed sites still rank well for non-competitiveterms ---- according to Wordtracker and Overture, no one actually searched for those terms.

Hi Matt,

Congrats on your position.
But frankly in the last month no searches were made for the keywords "opera western reserve" on Overture affiliated sites (yahoo, msn, etc).

When I check Ggoogle's suggest tool, even such words as Opera in Ohio were searched a negligible amount of times.

Try to determine which keywords are the most sought for your niche, then to get ranked in those.

As for yahoo, etc, check your log files. Have they spidered your site yet?

Concurr with cbp totally on the Sandbox theory offered, if you want to run the results on this page - G-Team Racing Search Results - set up to monitor G-Team Racing results. You'll find it scores heavily on non-competitive terms, however, it's nowhere to be found for competitive terms.

Likewise, the same holds true on Yahoo! after their recent update. It was fairing much better there for competitive terms.

MSN however it hits page one for all but a couple of the G-Team keyword(s) phrases, and even those slight changes or derivitives thereof that were used more frequently than the keyword searched, it scores very well there as well.

It also becomes apparent in these results that relative might in fact be a topic relevant term, as none of the topics found in the keywords searched in results, are what I would deem competitive.

The site turns six months old this month however, and I feel relatively secure in its position with the rollover of the algorithm at Jaggers' end in a few weeks.

Default The opposite

The opposite of being sandboxed is serendipity - making happy and unexpected discoveries by accident.

You can be No.1 on any search term as long as nobody is searching for it. If you come across an uncompetitive search term with any search volume and you make it to No.1, keep your mouth shut.

Being #1 in a keyphrase with little competition can be a bad thing sometimes.

http://www.google.ca/search?sourceid...q=iKobo+review

On this search, results 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, AND 9 belong to me in some form or fashion. And this has actually gone "down" from 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 10 pre-Jagger.

The problem is that now people think I'm some sort of iKobo expert just because I figured out how to perform a half-decent experiment.

Default Odd No.1 rankings on Google

I've got a few odd number 1 rankings on Google. Today's hits to my main site and blog reveal a couple that refer to Europe's second largest low cost airline.
