Default Scraper sites

Apologies for this - in another thread, someone asked what a scraper site was and I can now not find the thread.

I finally came across an eg:
ht tp://ww w.spok esmodels.co.uk
h ttp://ww w.spokesm odels.co.uk/scarf-osteotomy-598.html

They scrape their results from Google results or other sites to create keyword rish, but irrelavent pages.

Do a Google search for site:(url above) - they have 960 pages indexed for a very diverse range of keywords.

Default Jerks

Wow, yeah I have also noticed that a few of my pages have been scraped but they were at least kind enough to link to my site?!? It amazes me that there are people out there scraping for low traffic subjects like "composting" but there are!! It seems to only happen to my site which is in blog format with RSS, is that how they find and steal stuff?

I believe Google will be able to detect and remove these morons very soon.

I don't understand the value of a site full of odd links on a not-so-hot topic. And the examples you showed did not stay on 1 topic.

What is their point? I don't see how a person gets any value out of building a crap site like that.

Splain it to me Lucy :-)
