What would people say a good return is for, unique hits and percentage of sales from the hits.

Obviously different products will all differ but lets say a cheap low end product like our fashion jewelry which we sell?

your website ranking in SERP for your Keywords
No of searches for your keyword / phrases
price of your product competing with your competition

Product guarantee (exchange policy)
secure credit card processing
low cost shipping.
fast shipping which is trackable.
customer satisfaction

Result: Return Customer / More Sales / More Profit.

I did'nt add the requirements for a good website design, clear navigation, easy comfortable shopping cart software etc.

which is necessary to convert the visitor into customer.
