Default What price does SEO cost?

Im just interested how much would people say is a fair price for Search Engine optmimisation? Lets say for 15 main key phrases in a reasonably competitive industry?

Someone back home in the UK has been asking me to help them a bit with ideas for their optimisation and I would like to get a ball park figure. Ive done searches and seen lots of different price ranges anywhere from 500 pounds to 8000 pounds a year for complex dynamic sites.

Id like to hear everyones ideas of what they perceive is a fair price for both the customer and the optimizer.
Thanks
steve

Default Not easy to answer:

1. Depends on your experience.
2. Depends on who you are doing the job for.
3. Depends on the industry and complexity of site.

Two models:
1. Pay per hour PUN 30 - 60 (100).
2. Agree on project price.

I wrote in another post:
http://webproworld.com/viewtopic.php...e43a2fcf95e4d9
"My advice:
Negotiate on the following:
1.
-If your pagerank etc is k < n, make an agreement that within x months that should have increased to at least n.
- Good hits by some KW's related to your business in y SE's.
- Listed in some (important) directories (related to your business).
- Z inbound links with good anchor text, related to your business.
- etc. etc.
- Reduced payment if some of the points above are not implemented.
Guarantee about no KW, link or other spamming that may reduce the value of your site.

2. Reduce the set of possible companies by requiring a money back guarantee or payment to a blocked account.

How many companies are left? How much does it cost? That is a break even analysis."

What ever happened to helping out a friend for free,
him bringing over a box of beer and getting drunk.

What's this world coming too.

Default Helping people out for FREE

Helping people out for FREE is what we are doing at the moment.

But even we have children to feed and keep our selves well fed and clothed. (joking, i am not even married, lol )

The thing is that actually by contributing on the Forums we are increasing our chances of getting new customers and making contact with industry experts and professional.

It is like tapping the resources of the World Wide SEO Community.
