Default Classic TV Message Board

hello all,

I am new to this site & not knowing much about search engines I wanted to ask you a variety of questions.first off I have put together a "classic TV Message Board" which I really want to get it listed high on the rankings under the search terms "classic TV","sitcoms" or "sitcoms Online". I have already placed my meta tag in the header, submitted my site to "submitfire" and tried to use as many of my keywords as possible in my text,my question is this. is it possible to get message boards listed in the search engines? what is the best way to make sure that my forum gets listed under the search term I want? how will search engines "read" my site when they come to spider it? I really want this board to succeed, but I am a novice and any help would be appreciated, please give me some hints & pointers on this, you may view my site below, but remember, the keywords that I am gunning for are "classic TV" "classic TV Shows" & "sitcoms" thanks for your time.

If your site has content/features that are in demand and there are no competitors that make your site obsolete in comparison, the traffic will come. If the traffic comes and they like what they find your site will market itself.

Rule 1: The most important thing is that your site is as good as it can possibly be and that people will want to use it.

Rule 2: Make sure that if you are going to try and optimise your website for search engines you don't do anything that does not comply with these basic guidelines:

If you strictly keep to these two rules your site will potentially be a hit.

Some tips:

Fresh, original content - since you have a message board this should be no problem - make sure you moderate it carefully to avoid going against rule 2 and aim to achieve rule 1.

Links to your site: If you achieve rule 1 your site will naturally get loads of inbound links. These links will be ideal for SEO: related, keyword rich, one way natural links.
