Default Do SE's track IP addresses against Domains?

Hello everyone, I've been a long time reader, 4 years now, and finally decided to make some posts.

I had a question regarding hosting multiple websites. We currently have our main website:
www.airsplat.com

In addition to that we have a couple of content websites:
www.dawuster.com
www.airsplot.com
These sites were outsourced to a "Search Engine Marketing" Company.

We currently host both all of these websites on 2 servers.

My question is, if 1 server had multiple websites would good notice that it was the same IP address and penalize us for this? Or would they take note and do nothing? Or do they even track IP addresses and only monitor domains?

I did a quick search for this, but it doesn't seem like it's been touched on before. Any comments, suggestions, or previous experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Default No penalty, but also no real credit.

You won't get a penalty by hosting multiple sites on the same server (unless you have 1000's and link them all together), but you also won't see much benefit. Yes, Google and friends all know the IP address that a site is on.

They all understand that a lot of web site owners set up multiple sites, so they know that they shouldn't bother counting a lot of link credit from sites with the same IP's or even close IP's. The general rule is that the same class C block (###.###.###.XXX where only the X's are different) has a lower benefit than from other class C blocks.

There are obviously reasons why you should and will link your own sites together, but a vote for yourself doesn't weigh as heavily as someone who just decides they like your site and links to you or if some big site says that your site is a great place for whatever.

You won't see penalties unless you really abuse it. Just keep doing what's right for the visitor and the engines will like you.

Brian.
