Hey all,

This has been a very informative site and I've learned a lot already. I've been trying to optimize the website of the company I work for and I am entirely new to this. I've done things like increase content with the right keywords and backlinks. I've submitted the site to search engines, etc. We are on page two of a search for School Uniforms on MSN which is okay. How can we do better? We don't even show up with Google and Yahoo. I don't write Html so I need laymen's terminology. If these sorts of questions have already been answered elsewhere, it would be great if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

There is a lot you can do.

Remember content is king. Submitting your site to search engines isn't necessary, directories do help though. The more relevant In bound Links you can acquire the better, with School Uniforms in the anchor tag.

Write articles, make sure you have keyword rich content, keep your title tags short and descriptive, try to make your page names similiar to your keywords.

There are also a few reputable companies that can help you with this if you have the money to spend.

Well that's a start, make sure you spend a couple days just reading through this forum a lot of great advice in here and it's free.

What are some of the best ways to get backlinks?

Write articles and submit them to sites such as www.webdesignarticles.info and www.add-article.com

You could also submit your site to directories. I charge $50 to submit sites to 100 directories, however, you can find the list that i use at www.info-sales.co.uk and do it yourself for free :)
