Default Hot Linking

Does anyone have any ideas how hot linking is handled by SE's. Do they see them as an IBL to your site or a duplicate graphic and ignore them.

It would be nice to know that we are getting some use out of all these people increasing our bandwidth.

The search engines don't care if people hotlink to your site. It's only causing you bandwidth--it's not benefitting you in any way. So, go ahead and stop them.
