Default Yahoo's advance

I've noticed the increase in IBLs measured by Google. Seems Yahoo are on the move. And maybe Google are getting a little complacent. However the consumer loves Google. So there's a way to go.

Yahoo does tend to have a bit more spam in its index so its possible that with Google doing more to restrict entry to the index through the sandbox, these numbers could change.

"a bit more"

That is putting it very lightly.

It's not how big that matters, but how it's used ... yes, I'm talking about the number of pages indexed by the engines :)

The flip side of having 20 billion pages allows MSN and Google to tell there advertisers that their index is smaller, more relevant and hence a better ROI - this "guesstimate" could come back to haunt Yahoo! not help them IMO ...

The bigger pool (index database) helps Yahoo to better sort out quality web pages.

I think Yahoo needs an Image change - something to make people look at them in a more positive way. Google is quite new, fresh and has a light feeling to it. They update their logo design according to a special day.. how cool is that?

I think that the fact that it has more pages does not mean as much as being able to get to relevant pages in the least amount of time and I think Google is still better.

Are you referring to the same yahoo as us?
YAHOO .COM right?

Yahoos only claim to fame is a good indexing of backlinks, the psuedo-relevence they had 1 month ago appears lost forever in exchange for their
"jennifer-lopez-esque" PR stunt, which is this latest update.
