Google were granted a search patent a couple of years ago (Hilltop, I think) and as part of that, there was detection of cross linking between sites on the same class c IP address....
Now the problem is, has Google implemented it??? - I think the consensus is that you should not link between sites on the same class c IP address, or keep the linking to a bare minimum.
The next problem is, does Google penalize for it or just ignore it (ie give no benefit from the links? --- I do not know.
Its a judgement call... jus make the links useful to the visitor.
