Default High KEI phrases with "stop words"

I have a question about KEI optimization.

I searched for the phrase most appropriate to my site with the best KEI, with the intention of using it in the title and meta of my site's home page. This phrase contains what I believe are three stop words: and, at + the. What should I do here? The second highest KEI phrase would make a poor title, the first at least would make sense in that context.

Thanks,

-Kevin

is this for health-hack.com? If so I would use Health and Safety online or online health and safety.

Remove the name of the website in your title tag, not doing you any good there.

Whatever phrase you chose use it in the body of your site (keyword rich content) also in your in bound links. Your major problem with getting a site like this ranked high is the sheer competition.

IMO I wouldn't worry about words like and, at, the. Remeber make the site readable for your visitors.

Thanks, Phantom.
I took my site's name out of the title, but the phrases "online health and safety" and "Health and Safety online" have no searches at all in the last 110 days per WordTracker- from a KEI perspective, they are a bust.

If your wanting to just compete for highly competive phrases people search, then go for "health and safety"

But i'd bet more people are searching for "Health and Safety online" then your current title of "Health and Safety at the computer"

Yeah, I'm new to this whole KEI business myself, but "Health and Safety online" has ZERO searches in the last 110 days per wordtracker, whereas "Health and Safety at the computer" not only has hits, it has the highest KEI rating for all permutations I've looked at (including "Health and Safety online").

Anyway, I'm looking for something that is actually germane to my readers and my content.

One thing I've discovered in this learning process is that you really can't just guess what a keyphrase's KEI will be without actually crunching numbers.

Is it advisable to just not worry about KEI and pick a keyword with thousands of searches (and tens of thousands of competitors)? My interest in KEI was piqued by several posts by Neo~1 and others, who make it sound very important.

When phrases or keywords have high KEI, it doesn't necessarily mean you will get more traffic from them. You have to also look at phrases that have slightly lower KEI, but high traffic since it's a fine balance. have a look at the figures on how many competitive sites are actually optimised (keywords in titles, headings and content). It can't hurt your site to optimise from those related keywords and phrases. It's basically trial and error initially. Keep tabs on your site stats to see how people are finding your site and include those searches within your keywords if it's bringing adequate traffic.

Just some tips off the top of my head.
