Default Right way to have mirror sites with duplicate content?

My client sells products through internet and major traffic comes through search engines. At present he has top level .com domain. Now he wants to create few country specific top level domain link co.uk with same content as the main site but with country specific prices.

Since Google comes down heavily on sites with duplicate content, I like to have your valuable suggestion on right strategy to use so that main site will continue to have same rankings while mirrored country specific sites with same content except country specific prices will also have good rankings on country specific keywords.

If you must have different sites for different countries then each site must contain different content. Otherwise, they will be flagged as duplicates and be removed from the search engine's index.

Prices can be changed, but that's not all that needs to be changed. There needs to be a different "look and feel" for the site as one marketing technique in one country might not appeal to another audience in another country. Also, language varies from country to country, so you'll want to use different text on each site. For example, even English varies from US English to UK English.

Something else to consider is where the sites are hosted--if you are targeting a UK audience then the site should be hosted in the UK--otherwise the site won't rank well on the UK version of Google or other search engines.

Using diffrent variation of country specific languages will create the huge task of rewriting the whole content, which in itself is a hugh task I am not willing to get into. I believe this forum has so many experts in SEO that someone within them must be knowing the solution.

I know SEO dont like to give out highly guarded secrets but I request them to reconsider and help me out with a viable solution.

Actually this is a very generous forum - if the answer is out there it's very likely someone here will share it with you. In fact, it just may be that your answer is above!

I agree with you and due to this reason I frequent this forum. But when I see the response to this post it seems not many people have the depth of knowledge to provide the solution I am seeking.

The new sites should be just that. They will also be more effective overall if they appeal directly to the cultural and language usage differences.

British spelling, terminology, brighter colors, brighter clothing etc...

Another example... The Scottish build their housing with very little color outside, a lot of granite and similar architecture.... It's overcast and rainy a good deal of the time... dull and drab. But walk inside of many homes there and you may need to put your sunglasses on.

I wouldn't mirror Sites except for heavy CPU and bandwidth applications such as software downloads where the traffic from SE's just don't matter.
