When it comes to showing up number one for Information Technology Community in MSN Search or Yahoo Search, our site is killing the competitors by leaps and bounds, all with no spending budget.
For example, the following two links show our rankings for Yahoo and MSN: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=inf...b-t&fl=0&x=wrt http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?F...logy+community That just goes to show that no matter if your a small guy, you can still beat out even the largest competitors with the most rediculous marketing budgets. I love Google just the same, but right now we have a love hate thing going on. In that, I still get search results if I really try hard, like my My Test Experiment. (<<~~Click to view first result) Anyone with some more insight that can get me a similar result in Goolge, please let me know. Thanks, PuRe

That phrase is not popular, hence the reason it was used in the experiment.
The phrase I'm really targeting is Information Technology Community. PuRe

Actually, I got it natually using ethical, SEO practices. If you can't tell, it's a highly customized version of php-nuke. Now, before you think it, I didn't use the nukeseo pack that alot of sites are trying to use out there. I've done alot of custom seo stuff, like making an attempt to be sure that every article has it's own keywords and descriptions. I've added breadcrumbs in the title, not the actual body of the page. I've worked on getting lots of quality inbound links (none paid for). I setup a decent site map and more stuff. It's really paid off nicely with every engine except for Google, and I'm just hoping that Google will come around and show me some love. My pr did go up just the other day, so I guess that's a start. Recommendations, recommendations, and yes, my site contantly feeds fresh content as observed here: http://www.pureehosting.com/Google_Adsense.html Thanks for the feedback, PuReWebDev

Ethical practices, good content, and unpaid approaches are the best way to increase rankings. The tools included in nukeSEO promote the same. We merely integrated those tools into PHP-Nuke so that it would be easier for webmasters to "go to #1" without having to pay SEO consulting bills...
As for Google, having a Google sitemap definitely helps with Google rankings - especially given the focus here on content. Inbound links help with Pagerank, but don't have much to do with ranking on Google results anymore - as you accurately pointed out, content is king. |

http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=62320 If you do an allinanchor on your test it would appear to show some light on my suspicion that keywords in anchor text also included in meta tags are ranking a little higher on google. allinanchor: smack a hoe site:http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...riendid=326995 http://www.google.com/search?as_q=sm...s=&safe=images |
