Hi everyone,
I recently read an article "debunking the myth" of keyword density analysis. The article can be found at
http://www.e-marketing-news.co.uk/Mar05/garcia.html.
I'm a copywriter who does a lot of web copy and a fair bit of
SEO web copy. I've always understood keyword density to be a fairly simple measure of the number of instances of your keyword phrase in comparison to the total wordcount. I have no knowledge of the inner workings of search engine algorithms, but I've had quite a bit of success with my own website, which now ranks on page 1 of Google.com for my primary keyword "copywriter". I've always believed this is because I've optimized my site well for my primary keyword, and also worked hard on my backlinks.
However, this article (from the little of it that I understand) suggests that things are very different to how I thought they were.
I'd like to know what the real experts out there think of this article?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
Glenn Murray
