Default PDA - Phone Browsers Gaining in Stats every month!

We have been experiencing a continued elevation in PDA - Phone browsers on a month to month basis in our stats.
Is anyone else experiencing these kinds of gains in visitors using Phone Browsers? At this percentage we may need to detect and send to more compatible pages. Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon?

October 2003:
MS Internet Explorer No 10145 72 %
UP.Browser (PDA/Phone browser) No 2979 21.1 %
Unknown ? 679 4.8 %
Netscape No 154 1 %
Firebird No 51 0.3 %
Mozilla No 41 0.2 %
Opera No 18 0.1 %
Safari No 9 0 %
Lynx No 2 0 %
LibWWW No 1 0 %

November 2003:
MS Internet Explorer No 7017 65 %
UP.Browser (PDA/Phone browser) No 2876 26.6 %
Unknown ? 651 6 %
Netscape No 84 0.7 %
Mozilla No 83 0.7 %
Firebird No 37 0.3 %
Safari No 18 0.1 %
Lynx No 11 0.1 %
EmailSiphon No 5 0 %
Opera No 4 0 %
Others 1 0 %

Do these stats seem high? Are there really that many surfers using phone browsers these days?

What is your take? Are you seeing similar stats?

Thanks
Ken

That seems rather high. In fact anything over 10% or even 5% that is not your run of the mill IE is high.

Do you have a way of cross-referencing your Browser Type with your Referral Sites with? This would help in tracking down the source of where the people using the phones/PDA's are coming from.

Once you determine that -- then you can research what they are actually looking for and whether or not it is applicable to your site.

Even if it is or it is not relevant to your site, I would not ignore it. You might be on to something that you can turn into your favor....that is a good chunk of your traffic percentage that you could do something with (like send em to my site....hehehehe)
