Default Pay-Per-Call Search Marketing...Yes/No

I read about this last week:

http://searchenginewatch.com/searchd...le.php/3499356

Anyone see this as a huge opportunity or just another cost for marketers?

I do like the local spin they put on it:

"The pay-per-call format solves a problem for the millions of businesses that don't have a web presence, but still want to be found by online searchers."

Default

Here is an example of it:

I would think this page would be a bit more flashy with its marketing techniques.

Default They only want some words

I've talked to some pay-per-call companies in the past, and they're real selective about what products they'll accept. They want to make money, of course.

For example, telephones would be accepted because that is a "Universal market". Power tools, on the other hand, they say not enough people use for it to be cost effective for them. Maybe I'm a bit sheltered, but doesn't just about everyone have a cordless screwdriver and some form of a power drill (cordless / electric)?

In any case, I think it's a great concept, but it may just be too restrictive for a while yet.

Brian.
